Gina incorporates both American Council on Exercise Integrated Fitness Training and the Functional Movement Screen corrective exercise program.  These methods focus on mobility and flexibility, stability and control, movement patterns, then load and resistance training. 

 

This type of training is often referred to as functional training.  Functional fitness exercises train your muscles to work together instead of the old paradigm of weight training where you lift weights for isolated muscle groups.  Functional training uses various muscle groups together, upper and lower body at the same time, which also helps increase core stability.  The benefits of functional exercise is that they are multi-joint, multi-muscle exercises.  This type of training makes everyday activities easier, reduces your risk of injury, and improves your quality of life.  Functional exercise training improves balance, agility and muscular strength.
